But I also attended one of his July '01 "comeback" concerts (at The Fillmore, SF), and I have to say that it was hands down the worst show I've ever attended. Not only did Shuggie seem to be unfamiliar with the guitar, and out of sync with his band, I'm pretty sure he was high on something that wasn't helping his performance. He cleared 1,000 people out of a packed hall in less than half an hour. I'm told that by the end of the show (a ridiculous two and a half hours of musical torture) there were only three people left in the house. Inspiration Information is still a great album, but I have to admit that my enjoyment of it was tainted by a really lousy show... I love this album, and totally agree with every word of your review.
